From Global Experience to Local Impact: Why Nguaya Exists
By Konan Nguessan | Founder, Nguaya
I was born in Abidjan, raised in Côte d’Ivoire, and educated in the United States. Like many in the diaspora, I always knew I would return — but I didn’t want to come back empty-handed. I wanted to return with clarity, experience, and the capacity to build something that matters.
Nguaya was born from that mission.
After serving in the U.S. Army and managing operations and digital transformation projects across the energy and sustainability sectors, I saw a clear pattern: many investors had the vision, the funds, and the will — but they didn’t have execution capacity on the ground. In West Africa, that’s often what makes or breaks a project.
A Gap I’ve Lived on Both Sides Of
I’ve seen this gap from both directions:
From abroad, where investors assume execution is a local issue.
And on the ground, where teams struggle with alignment, timelines, and trust.
I created Nguaya to close that gap — not just as a consultant, but as a builder.
We’re not just here to offer advice. We manage the complexity, coordinate the stakeholders, and push projects forward — for clients who are serious about results.
Built for Builders
Nguaya isn’t for everyone.
It’s for investors, institutions, and visionaries who are ready to get things done in Côte d’Ivoire and across West Africa. It’s for diaspora professionals who want to build — but don’t want to waste time, money, or credibility learning the hard way.
We provide what I would have wanted if I were starting from scratch here:
a disciplined, trusted, and professional partner who gets results without excuses.
Returning with Purpose
Coming back home isn’t always easy — but it’s meaningful when you return with purpose.
Nguaya is my way of doing that. It’s more than a firm. It’s a commitment to turning ideas into impact, especially in places where great ideas often get stuck.
We believe in the future of West Africa — and we’re here to help build it, one executed project at a time.
